Pembina Gorge State Recreation Area
Covering more than 2,800 acres, the astounding Pembina River Gorge can be at your fingertips. Steep valley cliffs tower over small, isolated prairies and pocketed wetlands surrounded by the largest continuous, undisturbed forest in North Dakota.
There are more than 30 miles of trails open to horseback riding, hiking, kayaking, mountain biking and off-highway vehicles (OHV). Kayak rentals are available all summer long, and groomed trails in the winter mean the fun doesn’t stop when the snow falls.
Northeast and Red River North Trails
More than 400 of groomed snowmobile trails, with warming huts stationed along the way are accessible from our back door.

The park also offers summer theater performances, unique food and shopping, and an annual youth art camp.
McVille Dam and Campground
A fisherman’s paradise, McVille Dam is stocked with walleye, trout, bass, blue gill and perch. The campground offers modern amenities and hook-ups for weekend date with nature. There’s also a free disc golf course!
