“About 6 years ago, my family and I saw a little farmstead for sale in Brocket. It was the right price, and my wife graduated from Lakota, so we felt it was meant to be. We bought the house and 15 acres of land, packed up a big U-Haul truck and moved out of the big city of Fargo to “the middle of nowhere.” I like the small hometown vibe, and it’s a place I wanted to raise my family.

I worked for Hamel Farms as a farmhand and had previously spent 16 years working for LM Wind Power.  In 2022, I saw a job posting for Leading Edge in Michigan. Just for fun, I answered the ad, and was not expecting a phone call since I didn’t have any real experience working on machines or farm equipment. I got a call for an interview and then a job offer – and have been there ever since.

I am very happy where I am, and Leading Edge is like a family. I don’t think I’ve ever had a job where I’ve felt more at home. I feel like this will be my lifelong career.”
