“After college, I was torn between staying in North Dakota or moving to Tennessee. I met a farmer who invited me to take an adventure in the Northeast part of the state. When I experienced the quality coffee shops, the ski hills, river kayaking, and the sunsets over open fields, I knew there was something special here. I felt it was a place that I could see myself for a long time. That farmer is now my husband and I’ve lived in the area for two years. I had no idea Northeast North Dakota was such a treasure.”

Who We Are
Spanning from the Canadian border to the North, and the Red River to the East – this area is home to some of the oldest settlements in North Dakota, dating back to the 18th century. While we still find pride in our pioneering heritage, we’ve come a long way.
Our towns may be small, but our spirits, amenities and opportunities are larger than life. We are home to state-of-the-art industries, modern comforts, great neighborhoods, good people, and an excellent way of life.
