The Off the Charts Christian Music Festival , a free, family-friendly event that features Christian music, games for the kids and more is held annually in Cavalier, ND at the Cavalier City Park. The 2024 event is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, August 17 & 18.

1. What is Off the Charts?

This is the 13th annual Off the Charts Christian Music Festival, a free, family-friendly event that is an incredible time to come together to create special memories all built on and focused on sharing about God’s great love. This family-friendly event features phenomenal music, inflatable games, mega-trampolines, and more, all within the Cavalier City Park. The second day of the event, Sunday, includes a community worship service with free donuts and coffee.

2. How Did Off the Charts (OTC) begin?

Tiffany DeMars, one of the founders and volunteers with Off the Charts, recalls the start of OTC through her strong faith in God. Tiffany shares, “God laid OTC on my heart years ago. Being a youth minister we were always bringing our teens here and there to youth conferences, concerts, festivals, etc. So it was more like a passing thought, ‘It would be so fun to have my own festival for our teens here in our own community!’”

The question that really helped prompt OTC was, “What is something everyone enjoys?” To which Tiffany had the epiphany, “MUSIC!”  So, Tiffany and her husband, Troy, gathered a group of friends to create their faith-based free Christian music festival, right in the Cavalier City Park. The current board of Off the Charts includes Troy Demars, Tiffany Demars, Janna Robinson, Kyle Gagner, Larry Gapp and Tori Morrison.

Through the years, Tiffany reflects that Off the Charts has been an incredible way to reach the community and build bridges in a unique and unconventional venue.

3. What Have Been Some Highlights of OTC? Struggles?

As Tiffany recalls the twelve years of previous Off the Charts, she thinks of the Chris Tomlin song lyrics, “All powerful, untameable, Awestruck, we fall to our knees, As we humbly proclaim, You are amazing, God- You are amazing, God!”
Stories of tenacity through poor weather, strong friendships formed, people learning about faith in new and fresh ways, and the amazing musicians who have come to Cavalier all come to mind through the years.

Some struggles Off the Chart has faced and is currently facing are finances. Off the Charts is a free event, but with the economy and general spike in price for everything, it has been trying. Through the years, Off the Charts has been incredibly grateful for the tremendous financial support they have received to be able to continue hosting this exciting two-day free Christian music festival, and this year is no different. Tiffany is assured in her faith that God will provide. She and others continue to pray for finances to not be an issue.

They have always been so great to work with us and help us with whatever our needs are! We are so grateful for all who love and support OTC, whether it’s financially, volunteering, or honestly just showing up for the weekend and celebrating with us what God is doing in their hometown community!” Tiffany shares with joy, anticipation, and hope for this weekend’s 13th annual Off the Charts Christian Musical Festival.
